GUIDELINES FOR NOMINEES
- Must be based in any of the the supported 5 African countries.
- Should have been active for at least 12 months in the agricultural sector, whether
through farming, agribusiness, innovation, or policy. - Must demonstrate measurable impact, such as increased productivity, community
benefit, sustainability practices, or economic growth. - Can be nominated by the public, peers, or agricultural institutions.
- Supporting materials such as media features, testimonials, harvest/output data,
innovation demos, or cooperative achievements may be submitted to strengthen
the nomination.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
- Impact and productivity (e.g., yield, business growth, employment creation, or
community benefit) - Innovation and use of technology in agriculture or food systems
- Innovation and use of technology in agriculture or food systems
- Sustainability practices and environmental responsibility
- Empowerment and leadership (especially for cooperatives and rising stars)
- Cultural and regional relevance (e.g., preserving indigenous techniques or
contributing to local food security) - Public perception, reputation, and consistency
WHAT THE JURY WILL LOOK FOR
- Â Documented evidence of work (photos, videos, press features, testimonials).
- Alignment with African food heritage and/or innovation.
- Quality and consistency across platforms or service points.
- Efforts to promote food education, mentorship, or professional growth.
- Social impact and sustainability practices (where applicable).
